Historical Crisis Committee

Committee Introduction

Facing the threat of nuclear fallout with a steel determination, the Historical Crisis Committee is prepared to contain the threat of nuclear disaster and quench international tensions. Welcome to the 1986 Chernobyl Disaster: the Crisis committee where decisions aren’t just made with words but with action. Fueled by the joint effort of scientists and citizens alike, the Soviet Union must stand strong against the imminent threat of nuclear disaster. But this is more than just an issue to be resolved, it is a test of our cooperation and human resolve. If you are ready to extend a hand of diplomacy, make the tough decisions, and rewrite history, join the Historical Crisis Committee and take back Chernobyl. The stakes are high, the tensions electric, withlife and death hanging in the balance. Will you be able to stop the fallout from spreading and save Europe? Put on your hazmat suits comrades. The graphite isn’t the onlyexplosive in this HCC! This committee will follow a standard crisis-style ROP. Please visit the resources page at (website) to view the HCC Rules of Procedure.

  • Chair

Liam Krattli is a Senior at Bellarmine Preparatory School and is thrilled to serve as the Chair of HCC for BELLARMUN 2026! Liam’s MUN career started at BELLARMUN 2022 where he delegated as a nervous middle schooler who was too shy to speak. As the conference went on, he slowly became more and more outgoing until he perpetually had his placard up trying to get one more word in. In the time he has outside of Model UN, Liam enjoys participating in water polo, Knowledge Bowl, and Marine Chemistry, while attempting to “relax” by playing video games that cause his stress to skyrocket. Liam is humbled to have this opportunity to help guide your Model UN experience this year, and knows that MTN will ignite the same passion in Model UN that BELLARMUN 2022 gave to him.

  • Assistant Director

Jonah Bleinberger is a Sophomore at Bellarmine Preparatory School, and is super hyped to be your assistant director of Historical Crisis! He has been in MUN for about 2 years and enjoys politics, debate, and travel. He is a Life Scout and spends his time writing, reading, traveling, and working on personal projects like making gifts for his friends. He has been to 42 countries and would love to talk to any of you about your travel experiences, favorite international food, and more. He hopes you have a great time at BellarMUN and is looking forward to seeing you there!

  • Director

Hector Ramirez is a Senior at Bellarmine and is thrilled to be serving as the Director of the Historical Crisis Committee! Hector first started his MUN journey at BELLARMUN 2021, which he can’t say he paid much attention to, but he fully embraced the world of MUN during Bellarmun’s sixth iteration in 2022. Ever since, Hector has been set on a wonderful journey, participating in MUN his whole high school career and learning new things every step of the way. Other than Model UN Hector has many passions that he pursues including a flowering career on the pitch as a winger and midfielder. At home, Hector enjoys his life with two corgis and one cat. Hector is ecstatic for the incoming delegates and hopes that they may also be just inspired by BELLARMUN as he was, and encourages delegates to not be intimidated by this new experience and instead embrace it and all the learning opportunities it has to offer.
